The concept of the AV Concept Store in Duisburg is as unusual as the interior design. A wide variety of products from the areas of home accessories, gifts and fashion are sold here, all of them made by people with disabilities who create a great shopping experience also selling here or serving the customers and guests in the bistro that is part of the store.
The furnishings of this concept, which Tenbrink adopted from the concept design at The Store Designers in Cologne, were to be as versatile and multi-layered as the people and the products. Developing and producing all the furniture for this unusual concept was a lot of fun for both the creative minds and the planners. The attention to detail is reflected not only in the form and design, but also in the innovative choice of materials, from the marble to the brass-coloured steel to a wide variety of woods for furniture and flooring. The tasteful – in both senses – design of the bistro including smoothie bar and an unusual chocolate trolley make the joy experienced by the people and its makers on the customer and Tenbrink side complete.
