Coffee Fellows guests know what they are stopping in for: the enjoyment of freshly roasted barista coffee, paninis and confectionery in a high-quality, modern but cosy ambience. This is how the brand story of the successful coffee shop chain is lived out in practice at around 200 locations nationwide. In Dortmund it is now called: “Coffee to go & beds to stay.” Coffee Fellows commissioned Tenbrink as its partner to develop and implement the design concept in its first hotel project. The particular challenge was to develop a flexible room concept that could be adapted to different room types. Based on former offices and retail spaces, new room layouts were designed in modular construction, which will be used as a prototype for further hotels in the future.

The requested catalogue of services was extensive and demanding. Thus, as the project developer and general contractor, the task was to furnish 65 rooms and bathrooms as well as corridors and public areas on 2,500 sqm, which harmonise perfectly with Coffee Fellows’ corporate design. We worked together with the architect firm Enderweit + Partner. In addition to the design development and visualisation, Tenbrink also took on the delivery and assembly of the furnitures, fixtures & equipment package as well as all furniture production and assembly. After an impressively short assembly time of just three weeks, the first Coffee Fellows Hotel was opened in spring 2018.
