As the general contractor, our Tenbrink team was responsible for the comprehensive modernization of the four buildings, including 119 rooms and bathrooms, at the campus hotel of the EBZ (European Education Center for the Housing and Real Estate Industry) in Bochum. The goal was to create a modern and efficient environment that meets the needs of students, trainees, and guests—whether for vocational training, studies, further education, or leisure stays.
The challenge was to carry out the modernization while maintaining ongoing operations through excellent coordination and planning, ensuring uninterrupted school activities and guest accommodations. A creative interim solution consisting of tiny houses on campus provided functional and charming alternative accommodations, allowing campus life to continue seamlessly during the construction phase.
The Tenbrink team also took charge of material delivery and removal, as well as securing the construction site. Due to limited space and the location, customized solutions had to be developed to ensure safe and efficient execution over a narrow bridge.
Thanks to close collaboration and on-time completion, a modern and timeless environment was created that meets both the daily operational demands and the EBZ’s vision of a future-oriented educational facility. We are proud to have led this challenging project and to have made a sustainable contribution to the further development of the EBZ.
