The opening of the first “The Cloud One” in Europe by the Motel One Group in Hamburg was eagerly anticipated. As a long-standing partner of Motel One, we have already realized a number of projects together. However, furnishing and equipping the 457 rooms of “The Cloud One” was a special testament to their trust in us.
Our task was to manufacture the interior furnishings for the rooms, coordinate the installation, and meet the high design standards. Based on the design concept from the Motel One design department, our architecture team created a detailed execution plan. The unique feature of the Hamburg project: the approximately 40 different room types, each distinct from the others. This required coordinating and installing far more components than is often necessary with a more typical “mirror-image planning.” Thanks to precise planning and our Swinging Production, we were able to meet the tight deadline of just 14 weeks—many of the installed furnishings were produced directly in Stadtlohn! Logistics always play a crucial role in such a project, and Hamburg was no exception: when our semi-trucks navigate a one-way street in the city center to a limited delivery zone, effective interface management is essential. And it worked perfectly!
From sales and costing to project management and construction supervision, right through to work preparation and production in our own facilities—this was a team effort that every single person can be proud of.
